Càirdeas 2019, 2020, 2023 & Scarf Bundle
Each year our Distillery Manager works with the team to craft a limited-edition malt, aptly named Cáirdeas, in honour of our Friends of Laphroaig. Cáirdeas is Gaelic for Friendship, and each limited-edition bottling is made in celebration of the Friends we’ve made over the years.

Cáirdeas 2023
Bottled at a fixed strength of 52.3%, our Cáirdeas 2023 is aged in White Port and Madeira casks, bringing together the best of much-loved releases from recent years.
Three quarters of the whisky is matured in second-fill Madeira casks, resulting in smoky, spicy and sweet fruit flavours. The final quarter adds a hint of crisp fruit and deep woodiness to the flavour, having been finished in first-fill port casks.
This soft burnished gold liquid will fill the nose with notes of cinnamon, caramelized sugar and a fresh fruity sensation of crisp green apple, toasted peaches and charred orange peel. Expect a sweet and smooth finish with a lingering earthy peat and subtle tones sea-salt.
Cáirdeas 2020
Get ready to taste a multi-cask adventure in aging with our Cáirdeas 2020 Port & Wine cask limited release.
A combination of single malt matured in classic ex-Bourbon casks and single malt aged in second-fill Ruby Port barriques are brought together in a red wine cask and finished at a fixed strength of 52% to complete this wine-finished whisky.
Enjoy penetrating aromas of signature peat, smoke and iodine layered with hints of dark chocolate, peaches and plum jam. Our 2020 Càirdeas will treat the palate to sweet hints of honey, chocolate and marshmallow wrapped in a smoky spice and with a lingering finish of coppery wine.
Cáirdeas 2019
Uncork a special triple maturation with our Cáirdeas 2019 Triple Wood Cask Strength.
First matured in ex-bourbon barrels before being transported to quarter casks, finished ex-Oloroso sherry European oak casks and barrier filtered, our 2019 Cáirdeas packs an extra punch of Laphroaig’s signature rich smoky taste.
This burnished gold whisky hits the nose with aromas of polished leather, tobacco leaves, spicy lemon and clementine zest. Expect flavours of rich toffee, dates, maple syrup, grilled chestnuts, marzipan and black pepper to fill the palate. With a lingering taste of sweet caramel and spicy buttery fudge, try adding twice as much water as whisky to ignite the flavours in this bustling bottling finished at 59.5%
