A MEMORABLE FIRST IMPRESSION

If there’s any whisky you should meet first, it’s Laphroaig 10.

This classic flavour of our 10 Year malt whisky is the inspiration for every expression in our repertoire. It’s best known for the iconic peaty thump we’re famous for. Every sip smothers your senses with our outstanding smoky flavour, followed by hints of seaweed and a long finish with surprising sweetness. Laphroaig® 10 was created over 75 years ago by the maverick Ian Hunter to bottle the very nature of Islay. To this day, many of our friends at the distillery say it’s their favourite dram because it’s the embodiment of the island we call home.

MEET OUR SWEETER SIDE

Laphroaig® Sherry Oak combines the unmistakable flavour of our 10 Year Old with the sweet, aromatic additions from Oloroso sherry casks. Launched in 2021, it’s the newest expression in our range and has quickly become a firm favourite among our Friends. It’s a happy marriage between rich, full bodied flavour and notes of Manuka honey, bacon and maple syrup. A sweet and smoky dram that’ll take you away to Islay.

AN INTRODUCTION TO LAPHROAIG

Presenting Laphroaig® Select. This endearing expression will sit you down for a one-to-one with each of our key styles, selected from historic casks. The result is a subtle blend of trademark Laphroaig® character, thanks to a fusion of maturation styles and different oaks. This dram was actually selected by many friends who made the trip to our distillery. We offered each visitor a selection of different blends to seek out the ideal introduction to over 200 years of our whisky-making. This particular blend was voted the clear winner and has been bottled for you to enjoy today.

UNMISTAKABLE PEAT WITH A SOFT TOUCH

After two centuries of bottling intense peaty whisky that packs a punch, we’ve developed a reputation for powerful drams – and with good reason. But when you try Laphroaig® Quarter Cask, you’ll see we’re big softies really. This expression offers an irresistible creamy mouthfeel thanks to the double maturation in casks made of sweet American oak. After aging in our standard ex-Bourbon barrels this whisky is transferred to quarter-sized casks and left to rest in our warehouse on the Atlantic shore. The use of the smaller cask size increases contact with the oak for a soft and velvety edge to complement Laphroaig’s distinctive peatiness.
