Whiskies
Elements 1.0 & Elements 2.0 Set
Elements 1.0
Elements 1.0 is a premium single malt with flavours of spicy pepper, charred pineapple, and tangy liquorice. The first release in the Elements series celebrating innovation and creativity in whisky making, and heralds a new era of experimentation with mashing and fermentation. Made in two sizes of mash tun and with two types of wort, cloudy and semi-cloudy.
Elements 1.0
Colour
Bold auburn colour.
Nose
Salty and smoky bacon, woody bonfire embers overlay hints of sweet strawberry jam and charred pineapple.
Palate
Spicy and peppery flavour on the tongue with hints of tropical fruit followed by wintery cloves and liquorice.
Finish
A warming and smoky mouthfeel with a drying, long peaty finish.
Maturation
Matured in ex-bourbon casks.
Elements 2.0
Awarded Whisky of the Year 2024, by the Whisky Advocate.
Elements 2.0 is a bold, non-chill filtered whisky showing the flavour impact of an extended fermentation process. Every flavour is big and bold with its own place, each one complementing the other. The extended fermentation of up to 115 hours introduced some extra tropical fruit notes which perfectly balanced with the soft smokiness of the peat.
On the nose, you’ll notice intensity of the peat smoke and green apple, followed by a warmth of ginger. More smoke comes when you taste, along with runny honey, cream soda and vanilla. The long and lingering finish “leaves smokiness sitting like a blanket”, with a hint of red berries.
Elements 2.0
Colour
Bold, pale gold.
Nose
Fruity and subtly coastal. Stewed apples, vanilla custard and zesty orange peel with subtle peaty notes.
Palate
Fruity, sweet and salty. Green apples and runny honey with cream soda and soft peatiness of a smouldering bonfire and smoked seafood.
Finish
Sweet with an increasingly warming smokiness to finish.
