Each one shaped by the same uncompromising spirit that defines everything we make on Islay. And everyone remembers their first time.

Càirdeas 2025
We’ve pulled out all the stops for the latest edition of Càirdeas. Lore Cask Strength is the perfect way to cap off a run of classic whiskies at cask strength. After all, Cask Lore is a fan favourite – famed for the way it brings together different casks to tell a unique story of our distillery history. With this new, exclusive cask strength version, the marriage of five of our all-time favourite casks – each with a unique story to tell – produces a bold and intense flavour, adding even more depth to Laphroaig’s rich character. The result is a complex taste that’s really special – and well worth saving especially for our Friends.
Càirdeas 2025 Lore Cask Strength introduces itself with notes of peat and sea salt, before leading to a peppery sparkle, with lemon, limes and caramel, and flavours like minty tea, cumin, cloves and ginger. It finishes with a bold antiseptic burst – before drawing to a close with a subtle sweet citrus flourish. It’s a story that’s definitely worth telling.
What is Islay Whisky?
Islay whisky characteristics wear the coast openly. You’ll meet smoke first, the coast close behind, and a finish that stays precise and dry. The malt stays present—dry, honest, sometimes with herbal or citrus brightness—while oak adds depth without muting the shoreline. It’s intensity with precision: peat first, malt behind it, the sea never far away.
