Port Wood

The fruitiest dram we have. Laphroaig® Port Wood is honey-sweet with medicinal smokiness, red berries, and seaweed. A rewarding and unforgettably well-rounded single malt.

FLAVOUR BY THE BARREL

When you match flavour profiles that get on this well, you’re in fine company. On the one hand you have our big peaty personality, and on the other there’s the jolly fruitiness of ruby port. Characteristics that bring out the best of each other with flavours that just click. It begins in our stills where malted barley dried over peat fires meets the crystal waters of the Kilbride Stream, forming a rock-solid bond as whisky. The spirit then comes of age in charred ex-Bourbon barrels to develop smokiness and impart a hint of vanilla. Once matured it’s transferred to ex-ruby Port casks to pick up the sweet, subtle traits of Portugal's famous dessert wine. All to create a loveable fruity whisky that you can’t help but get along with.
