Introducing the latest instalment of our much-loved Càirdeas series, Lore Cask Strength.
Made by marrying five of our all-time favourite casks, each with its own story to tell, this is a cask-strength version of one of our best loved expressions, Cask Lore.
Cask Lore is a fan-favourite classic – and one of our most complex, layered flavour profiles. With this special version, our Friends can enjoy it just like our whisky makers do.
We love to reward Friends of Laphroaig with a unique bottling every year, and Càirdeas 2025 is no different. Friendship is its own reward, and it goes great with Lore Cask Strength, too.

Tasting notes
On the palate, Lore Cask Strength makes a dramatic entrance with notes of peat and sea salt, before leading to a peppery sparkle, with lemon, limes and caramel, and flavours like minty tea, cumin, cloves and ginger. It finishes with a bold antiseptic burst, and leaves you with a hint of sweet citrus.
Our Càirdeas series is a way for us to honour the friendships formed over a shared love of Laphroaig. Each year at Fèis Ìle on Islay, we share a brand new release made especially for our Friends. It always creates a buzz – and this year’s non-chill filtered whisky is worth the wait.

Càirdeas 2025 Lore Cask Strength builds on an already layered flavour profile with even more intensity, without ever compromising on subtlety. It takes you on a journey from zesty and salty high notes to warm hints of spices, wood and pepper – finishing with the deep, antiseptic richness of Islay peat.

Just as Cask Lore’s complex flavour is achieved by combining different casks, this new Càirdeas brings together five of our favourite whiskies to weave a unique story. At cask strength, its intense flavours allow you to enjoy the unique character of Laphroaig with even more depth. It’s the perfect way for us to complete our run of classic whiskies at cask strength.
A very special Càirdeas
Càirdeas. It’s Gaelic for “Friendship”, and it’s the perfect word to sum up what this bottling is all about. Every year we share a new, unique release just for this series, and Càirdeas 2025 Lore Cask Strength is one for the history books.
By taking a fan-favourite Laphroaig whisky – Cask Lore – and making this cask-strength version, we’ve been able to keep a little something special aside just for our most dedicated Friends. It’s created by marrying together five of our favourite whiskies, all of which has its own unique story to contribute. The result is a wonderful and intense Scotch, that was a pleasure to share with our Friends at this year’s annual whisky festival on Islay, Fèis Ìle – and that was just the beginning.
CÀIRDEAS 2025 MASTERCLASS WITH GEORGE CAMPBELL
Our Distillery Manager, George Campbell will be recording a special tasting of this year’s Càirdeas release which will be broadcast at 5pm – sharing his stories and flavour notes of the new whisky
In keeping with our tradition, we’ll be unveiling the bottle during Fèis Ìle (Islay Festival). More specifically, this year we’ll be revealing Càirdeas on the first Saturday of the festival, 24th May.
We love sharing our whiskies far and wide, but the Càirdeas series is a little different – it’s available exclusively to Friends of Laphroaig. We see it as a great reward for our supporters.
