Laphroaig Cask Strength is an Islay scotch, bottled at natural distillery strength and non-chill filtered

It has all the genuine depth, taste and texture associated with sampling whisky at source. Laphroaig whisky is matured in seasoned oak barrels, which are charred before filling to impart a slight sweet vanilla nuttiness. Laphroaig 10 year Cask Strength is barrier-filtered, only just, to remove the small char particles. This means you can enjoy exactly as we made it, with very little intervention.

In extremes of temperature and when you add water it may appear a little cloudy – this is the natural condition of a peated whisky of such uncompromising purity. Adding a little water releases a rich aroma of peat smoke with some sweetness and strong hints of the sea. Emphatic, full bodied and utterly unforgettable – we like to think it’s the purists' choice.

Islay Classic


The purists’ choice, Laphroaig Cask Strength is bottled at natural distillery strength and barrier filtered. It has the intense depth, taste and texture you'd expect from tasting whisky at the distillery, but in the comfort of your home. 

Laphroaig 10 year cask strength has all the classic flavors of our quintessential Islay Scotch whisky, but more intense. Polished leather and tobacco combine with zingy lemon and clementine zest, accompanied by notes of heather honey, hazelnuts and vanilla fudge. This uncompromising Scotch whisky can sometimes overpower the palette — add water if needed.

A full-bodied single-malt Scotch, it's aged for ten years in ex-Bourbon barrels which are charred before filling to lend a subtle vanilla nuttiness to the finished spirit. The whisky itself is made in a time-honored way developed over two centuries, with the barley toasted and dried over a peat fire to develop the smoky notes Islay whisky is renowned for.  

Purely natural


After aging, Laphroaig 10 year cask strength is barrier-filtered to remove char particles. There's no other intervention: just a burnished gold dram, uncompromising on taste and utterly unforgettable. Set on the rugged shores of the Isle of Islay since 1815, the Laphroaig distillery has seen generations of distillers using the island's natural bounty to craft exceptional Scotch whisky.

Islay's unique peat is used to toast the barley, while the crisp clean waters of the Kilbride stream are used for mashing. As it is bottled at cask strength, this expression of Laphroaig speaks of the rugged landscape and the passion of our master distillers.

    Sweet cereals with biscuit notes, fresh oak, smoked cedar and Manuka honey. Amsterdam pipe tobacco, shoe polish and old leather combined with a touch of waxy church candle, vanilla cream, nutmeg and oak extracts.
  • BODY

    Full bodied.

    Floral with spicy oak tannins, iodine and sea salt.
    Sweet and spicy, with burnt oak staves, barbecued marshmallows, toffee and sea salt, vanilla and Belgium caramel waffles. Roasted coffee fudge cream on sticky toffee pudding, with a hint of white pepper and crushed cinnamon.
    Neat or with ice.
