Quarter Casks

Laphroaig® Quarter Cask is twice aged to amplify deep peat and add a surprising sweetness. Contact with the wood of smaller quarter-sized casks makes it our most lively expression.

Tasting Notes

Colour

Full sparkling gold

Nose

Smouldering peat with aromas of coconut and banana

Palate

Deep, complex, smoky. And a surprising gentle sweetness.

Finish

Really long, drying with appropriate smoke and spice.

Maturation

Double matured ex-Bourbon barrels and American oak quarter casks.

BIG FLAVOUR FROM SMALL BARRELS

Bigger barrels don’t mean better flavour. The proof is Laphroaig® Quarter Cask, inspired by the old tradition of transporting whisky on packhorses. Fortunately for said horses, it was stored in smaller quarter casks that carry flavour into your dram today. Their reduced size means the spirit has more contact with the wood, amplifying the natural flavours of whisky first matured in ex-Bourbon barrels. Hints of coconut, banana and vanilla complement our instantly recognisable heavy peat flavour, followed by a long, sweet and smoky finish. This quarter cask whisky is barrier filtered to retain all the character developed in our small but mighty barrels. Enjoy a soft and velvety single malt full of unexpected vivid notes, bigger flavour and aroma.

My first bottle of Islay whisky

I got this a week ago,and that is my first time,to taste a bottle of whisky like this. In my past time,I have heard many times that the people said"Peat falvour",and I was very curious about that. It's like burning woods, smoky, and tasts like toasted bacon or smoked ham,I reall have to say that's makes me hungry. Anyway,It's amazing for me,but DO NOT DRINK IT WITH ICE!

For a serious Scotch lover

It's one of the most fragrant Scotch Whiskeys I've had. It's hard to keep in the bottle. it's so good. If you can enjoy some in Edinburgh at the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society

My favorite Laphroaig

This is my table whisky. Bigger, fuller, smokier, deeper, and stronger than even the 10-year-old, Quarter Cask has been my favorite Laphroaig for years. Of course, this is only my personal opinion (and I would NEVER say no to any other Laphroaig!), this particular expression has everything I want in a whisky. I prefer it straight up... don't stint on the pour!... and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the Islay smokies.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent tasting notes. To be sipped relaxingly, not for mixers. Complex taste and quality single malt whiskey that doesnt break the bank.. airport buys are the best
